Painting has always been a medium I’ve been passionate about, but early in my career I struggled to make it work for me. When I began to incorporate my photography into it, it started to click. I do a whole shoot with a model, and then select the images that I think are most powerful. I then print them on a screen, and then I paint over, around, and as part of the picture of the model. Crossing my two favorite mediums feels to me like it gives the piece more soul, and makes it more expressive to the viewer. By taking the modern portrait and going a bit deeper by providing another layer to the piece I can bring a whole new perspective.

I first start with a concept and turn it into a photoshoot.

Out of the photoshoot, I then find my favorite images.
